Press Release

BBMX and Scott Metz team up for Daytona and Orlando SX rounds

The DNA Energy Drink / BTOSports / BBMX team has decided to give privateer hero Scott Metz a dream ride for the Florida SX rounds.  Metz has long been known as one of the most outgoing and hard working privateers on the circuit.  He has most recently become a fan favorite for taking on a popular online challenge by attempting to qualify for the Atlanta SX on a bone stock RM 250 2-stroke.  Though Metz did not achieve the proposed goal in Atlanta, he did turn around the next weekend on his regular RMZ 450 4-stroke and post the fastest practice time in his group session at the St. Louis SX.  It is this never give up type attitude that has landed Scott what he considers a dream ride for the Daytona and Orlando SX rounds.

"Metz and I met when we were placed on the same team down at a SX in Costa Rica back in 01.  We hit it off that week and have been tight friends ever since.  He is one of those riders who gives 110% every time he hits the track and I know that is what he will give the team over the next two races.  I am pumped that we can help give him this opportunity on one of our full team race bikes", says team owner Forrest Butler.  The DNA Energy Drink / BTOSports / BBMX team has had an incredible streak going this year.  The team has had the most dominant field in SX this season in the Supercross class with the following facts:  Out of the 11 World SX rounds this season, BBMX has had 5 riders qualified into the night program at 9 rounds and 6 riders at round 1.  The team also has placed a rider into the main event at 10 of the 11 rounds, with 5 of those rounds having 2 riders in the main and 1 round with a still standing 07' season record of 3 riders in the main event.  The team's top finish of the season came at Atlanta when team rider Bryan Johnson placed an amazing 7th.  "When the incredible streak we had going with our 5 man team got the breaks put on it last week, our team just did not feel the same with only two bikes under the big tent.  Skinner will be back this weekend, but that still only makes 3 riders, so we decided to give Metz the opportunity to fill in for DeHaan while he was out and give us 4 riders for our home state (Florida) races.  We think that Metz is going to surprise a lot of people at these next two rounds.  He is the kind of rider that will give it everything he has when given the opportunity and we are pumped to be able to offer this to him", says team manager Karsten Butler.

Metz will ride a full on works DNA Energy Drink / BTOSports / BBMX race bike and have the full team treatment along side team riders Jason Thomas, Shaun Skinner and Brandon Butler for Daytona and Orlando.  Be sure to stop by the BBMX pits if you are attending either of the two rounds to cheer on #150, Scott Metz as he goes after his first main event of the season and gets ready to give the most of his Florida trip.
