As New Season Approaches Mips Features Expanded Presence on Supercross Starting Gate

Barcia, Cianciarulo, Roczen, and Wilson Headline Star-Studded Lineup

STOCKHOLM (January 14, 2021) – With a new season of Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, rapidly approaching, motorsports in 2021 will get off to a high-flying start in Houston, Texas. Amidst this gathering of the finest motocross talent in the world is a star-studded lineup of international athletes that will race with the protection of Mips, the helmet-based safety technology company.

Thanks to partnerships with globally recognized brands like Alpinestars, Fox Racing, Thor, and Troy Lee Designs, the presence of Mips’ patented and meticulously developed Protection System in helmets at the professional level of the U.S. motocross scene has seen consistent growth. Throughout the 2021 supercross season, no less than 17 riders across the 450SX Class and 250SX Class will compete with Mips’ proven technology under the shell. 

The newest addition to the collection of Mips-equipped helmets is the cutting edge Fox Racing V3 RS, which will be worn by a pair of championship hopefuls in the 450SX Class, Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Adam Cianciarulo and Team Honda HRC’s Ken Roczen.

The Alpinestars Supertech M10 helmet will be worn by a strong contingent of podium contenders and potential race winners, with Monster Energy/Star/Yamaha Racing’s Aaron Plessinger, Team Honda HRC’s Chase Sexton, and Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Dean Wilson in the 450SX Class and Team Honda HRC’s Hunter and Jett Lawrence, along with Phoenix Racing Honda’s Enzo Lopes, Josh Osby, and Kyle Peters in the 250SX Class. 

The trio of Twisted Tea/H.E.P. Motorsports Suzuki riders in the 450SX Class, Max Anstie, Adam Enticknap, and Brandon Hartranft, will each wear the Thor Reflex helmet.

The new Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/GASGAS squad will also feature Mips protection across both classes, with the Troy Lee Designs SE4 helmet worn by Justin Barcia in the 450SX Class and Pierce Brown and Michael Mosiman in the 250SX Class. The SE4 will also be worn by 250SX Class rookie Max Vohland, riding for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing.
