Reno Arenacross Enters its 19th Year of
Bringing Fans to Their Feet

AURORA, Ill. (March 4, 2010) – The 2010 AMA
Arenacross Series’ West Coast swing draws to a close this weekend with two
exciting nights of action from the Livestock&Events Center in Reno, Nev.
The Babbitt’s Monster Energy/Ti Lube Kawasaki trio, headed by current points
leader Tyler Bowers, leads the way into the Biggest Little City in the World as
the most tenured race on the series schedule enters its second decade of
hosting the best arenacross racers on the planet.

The Reno stop of the AMA Arenacross Series
made its debut 19 years ago in December of 1991. The race instantly became a
hit amongst the local residents and continued to evolve, becoming a staple in
the community and becoming affectionately known as “ArenOcross.” For the past
10 years, it has been a staple of the AMA Arenacross Series schedule and
presents one of the most unique tracks the riders will see all season.

In years past, ArenOcross was traditionally a
November race, but thanks to the condensed schedule that was introduced last
season, the race has adopted a new home in the transition from February to
March as a part of the series’ West Coast swing.

Last season, the Reno round was dominated by
one rider, supercross competitor Jake Moss, who went on to win all four main
events across the AMA Arenacross and AMA Arenacross Lites classes over the span
of two nights. The scheduling of the event comes during the mid-season break
for the Western Regional AMA Supercross Lites class championship and now
presents an opportunity for the fans in attendance and the AMA Arenacross
Series regulars to get a glimpse of some of the competitors from Monster Energy
Supercross. With such a deep, talented field across each class in the AMA
Arenacross Series, there is sure to be a challenge mounted by riders such as
Bowers, Josh Demuth and Chad Johnson in the premier class along with young
speedsters A.J. Catanzaro and Cory Green in the AMA Arenacross Lites class as
they look defend their territory.

The excitement will be high as the series
prepares for the “Final Four” in its own version of March Madness. Bowers
currently holds a 17-point advantage over Demuth while Johnson lurks in third
just an additional four points behind. The 2010 AMA Arenacross class
championship is going to come down to these three riders and anything can
happen once the gates drop on Friday and Saturday night. In the hotly-contested
AMA Arenacross Lites Western Regional Championship, it is a two-rider race
between the aforementioned Catanzaro and Green, who are separated by only three
points with three rounds remaining in the regional title fight.

With the largest floor space used of any
venue on the schedule, the Livestock & Events Center allows for a
refreshing change to the traditional Arenacross track. In fact, the AMA
Arenacross Series track crew creates a supercross-style layout that regularly
produces some of the most exciting racing of the season, allowing riders to
work with a little more space than normal. Furthermore, seating allows for the
fans to get up close and personal with the action out on the track.

The permanent home of ArenOcross since its
inception in 1991, the Reno Livestock & Events Center is primarily home to
rodeo contests, including the headlining Reno Rodeo. Situated on 43-acres of
land, the center sits in a prime location and bears an astonishing 150 by 300
feet of floor space. It can seat 6,200 people, setting the stage for what is
sure to be a packed house this weekend.

The first gates drop on ArenOcross this
Friday at 7:00 p.m
., followed by an additional night of bar-to-bar racing on
Saturday at 7:00 p.m
. Amateur Day concludes an exciting weekend of action on
Sunday
, beginning at 10 a.m.
