A GP to forget for Van Horebeek

After showing good speed in every
GP this season Jeremy Van Horebeek travelled to the French GP in St Jean
D’Angely desperately hoping for a pair of good starts and the chance
to race for a podium position, but once again it was not to be.

With a solid qualifying race on
Saturday Van Horebeek crossed the line in 7th securing a good
gate pick for Sunday.

The gate dropped for the MX2 moto 1
on Sunday and as the riders turned right up the first of the wet rutted
hills the number 89 machine of the ‘Jerre’ was outside the top
20. A terrible start had left Van Horebeek with a lot of work to do if he
wanted to get through to the sharp end of the pack. Trying everywhere to
make his move passed the competition the young Belgian was slowly climbing
up the leader board as the laps ticked away. In the end Van Horebeek
finished the 35 minute and 2 lap moto in 9th place.

The second moto was just as bad a
start for Van Horebeek, who was down in 24th position at the end
of lap 1. Pushing too hard Van Hoerbeek went down on lap 2, infuriatingly
leaving the ‘Jerre’ even further back in 32nd place
on lap 2. Getting going Van Horebeek had no choice but to fight for any
points possible and in the end he crossed the line to take 17th
position.

“I am really frustrated with
my results at the moment.  We are battling to get good starts and this
is costing me valuable championship points.  I have the speed but need
to work on my consistency and focus on my goal of getting on the
podium.  The team and I will be working hard on improving on our
starts over the next few weeks and I want to make sure that I am ready to
race up front in Germany at the next round” vowed Van
Horebeek.
