2007 Red Bull Last Man Standing: Back and Better (and Badder) than Ever

Rider registration is now open

Santa Monica, Calif. (October 9, 2007) – Red Bull Last Man Standing will  return to north Texas for its third iteration, December 7-8, 2007, at the  Red River Motorcycle Trails in Bulcher, on the Texas/Oklahoma border. In  addition to featuring one of the toughest courses in off-road racing, new  spectator enhancements will be in place to optimize the fan experience of  the event.

The Isle of Man’s David Knight defended his 2005 title in dominating  fashion last year, and along with Englishman Wayne Braybrook, was one of  just two riders out of 128 to complete both 40-mile laps.

Registration at www.redbulllastmanstanding.com will open on Tuesday,  October 9. Total entries will be limited to 300 “A” level riders.

Last year, the Friday qualifier was cancelled due to an unexpected  snowstorm, but this year, it will take place rain (or sleet, or snow) or  shine. Each rider will get two runs, with the fastest run being taken. The  top 100 riders will advance to Saturday’s main event.

The course, designed to challenge the world’s best riders, will undergo  changes for this year’s event. The race will once again consist of two 35  to 40-mile laps, one during the day and one at night, with the night course  reversed. And it will again feature special “element” sections that will  test riders’ mettle. New this year, to alleviate rider bottlenecks, the  course will gradually increase in difficulty. By the six-mile mark, riders  will enter complex terrain, which will become more difficult with every mile. The course will also bring the riders back into the pit/spectator  area, which will allow them to stop for gas and let spectators watch more  racing action.

A spectator fee will go toward several enhancements to the overall fan  experience at the event. Admission, beginning on Thursday, December 6, is  $10 for adults, $5 for children, and free for guests 10 and under.

Among the fan improvements are Spectator Energy Stations, which have been  developed throughout the property for added comfort, and a new tram system,  which will shuttle spectators around the event site. This will allow  spectators to see more of the event in a timely, easy manner. In the main  pit area, spectators will enjoy a lounge area, race headquarters and  multiple food vendors. Also added this year is a new vendor row, where  spectators can check out the latest motorcycle products and talk direct  with aftermarket suppliers.
