$100,000 Monster Energy/Kawasaki Triple Crown of Motocross Kicks Off at Kawasaki/Monster Energy Motocross National in Mt. Morris

MT. MORRIS, Pa. (June 4, 2008) – A $100,00 is up for grabs as the Monster Energy/Kawasaki Triple Crown of Motocross kicks off at High Point Raceway for the 32nd Annual Kawasaki/Monster Energy Motocross National Presented by Centra Bank on June 14-15.

A three-race competition conducted within the AMA Toyota Motocross Championship Presented by FMF, the Monster Energy/Kawasaki Triple Crown of Motocross includes the trio of High Point, RedBud, and Steel City. Riders in the AMA Motocross and AMA Motocross Lites classes will battle it out round-by-round for a chance to win the grand prize: A $25,000 bonus awarded in each class to any rider that sweeps the three-race series.

Additional prize money will be awarded, with $3,000 given in each class to the overall race winner at each round and $2,000 to the top finishing privateer. The rider to score the most points in each class during the three-race challenge will win an additional $5,000. Also, three Kawasaki/Pro Circuit KLX 110 motorcycles will be given away to the fans.

“Entering our fourth year, the Monster Energy/Kawasaki Triple Crown of Motocross has developed into a recognizable race series within a series for both the MX and MX Lites classes at Mt. Morris, RedBud and Steel City,” said John Lee, Director of Sports Marketing for Monster Energy. “And with $100,000 on the line in cash prizes for both factory and privateer racers, along with three Kawasaki/Pro Circuit KLX 110 mini bikes to be given away to three lucky fans, the Triple Crown of Motocross stands alone as the richest three-race promotion in American motorcycle racing.”

Round two of the Monster Energy/Kawasaki Triple Crown of Motocross will take place at the Monster Energy National Presented by Concept Haulers from RedBud Track & Trail in Buchanan, Mich., July 5-6, with the concluding third round on August 30-31 and the Monster Energy/Kawasaki Motocross National from Steel City Raceway in Delmont, Pa.
