Upgrade Auto Clutch To EXP 4.0 | News

An informative message from our very trusted partners over at Rekluse...

So, you have a Rekluse auto clutch that works great in your bike already, why should you upgrade? There are many points to the answer to that question, but as a whole, upgrading to EXP 4.0 will give you more direct power delivery and throttle response, even further improved durability, and rider-focused functionality.

The benefits of our newest generation of auto clutch technology, EXP 4.0, are not the product of just a simple and quick design update. Rekluse engineers went through many iterations of designs and countless hours of testing over the course of the better part of 18 months to ensure upgrading to EXP 4.0 is exactly that: an upgrade.

Upgrading to EXP 4.0 can be quick and easy, but let’s take a step back to understand who can upgrade to 4.0. Essentially, anyone with an auto clutch using EXP 3.0 can upgrade to 4.0 with a couple simple options. Whether it’s a Core EXP, RadiusX, or RadiusCX 3.0 system, enjoying the benefits of 4.0 is just an EXP swap away.

Rekluse EXP 4.0 upgrade kits are available in two overall options: The EXP 4.0 disk by itself, or the EXP 4.0 disk plus a clutch pack consisting of TorqDrive friction and drive plates. Adding the clutch pack is a nice option for those that want the whole clutch stack to be fresh, but whichever you choose, the Rekluse engineering team did the hard work for you to ensure you can essentially drop in your new EXP 4.0 and go.

What are the design differences between EXP 3.0 and 4.0?

  • Upgraded base material providing improved strength at high temperatures
  • Revised base design improving strength and rigidity, translating to more connected lever feel
  • Improved wedge design with pins allows for rolling instead of sliding to expand the disk, creating a more responsive feel and smoother engagement
  • TorqDrive friction pad design matches revised oil flow characteristics
  • Engagement curve designs updated to better match modern motorcycle engine characteristics
  • More tuning options with varying wedge weights and EXP springs

Overall, upgrading your EXP 3.0 auto clutch to EXP 4.0 will deliver a more direct power response and improve your riding experience across every situation and terrain, from the trail to the track.
