Yamaha of Troy Update 25

We just got an update on some of the plans for Yamaha of Troy, and the 2009 season. Some of this will put some rumors to rest and others? Well, maybe they’ll launch a few new ones.

Yep, Yamaha of Troy will indeed be back on the track for the ’09 season, with Jason Lawrence aboard a YZ250F, and running the number one plate. We’d heard rumors of a 450 ride, but that won’t happen until 2010. So where did that one originate? Probably due to the fact that there's a strong possibility of a second rider in the mix. The team is currently talking to a couple familiar names for a possible 450 gig.

Sponsors? Yep, Monster is in the mix, but the team also has a pair of yet-to-be-announced title sponsors as well. We hear that the bikes will also have a decidedly darker look to them than the normally all-blue machines.

What else? In the past, the team was based in Valencia, but they’re currently shopping for a new race shop in Corona. We’ll also update you when we hear more.
