Who Had The Winning Bid With The AMA?

If you’ve been paying attention to the news (and politics) surrounding the AMA’s bid process for the rights to their collection of racing series, you know things have been very interesting.

With a press release and press conference scheduled for tomorrow at Daytona, some information is starting to come to light about who will control the future of AMA Racing in the U.S. It’s expected that the AMA has awarded rights to all their various types of racing to a Daytona Beach-based group. Whether there’s a direct connection to NASCAR, ISC (International Speedway Corporation), or a separate entity with ties to either of those groups is unclear. Expect tomorrow’s press release to clear that up.

Among the other rumors we’re hearing is that MX will be subbed out by that group to an entity who’s already familiar with the sport…and again, we should know more in the morning.

Ah, the suspense…
