If you caught our press day coverage, you know that the Freestone layout may be the same, but the surface has changed a lot with the addition of tons of sand. Who mastered in practice? Ryan Dungey (Rockstar Makita Suzuki) had the fastest overall time as the track firmed up (but got rougher) in the second practice, and he edged out Chad Reed (TwoTwo Motorsports Bel Ray Racing). Davi Millsaps Muscle Milk/Toyota/JGRMX) looks really strong in third spot, and Supercross champ, Ryan Villopoto (Monster Energy Kawasaki) was fourth. Rounding out the top five was MotoConcepts Yamaha's Christophe Pourcel.
