DMXS Tonight

The Red Bull X-Fighters made its U.S. debut at the Historic Ft. Worth Stockyards last weekend and the sold-out crowd were treated to an incredible FMX riding clinic by the world’s top riders. Switzerland’s Mat Rebeaud won his first ever event on our soil and takes the overall point lead into the next round in Spain. Mat will join us tonight while we enjoy some Marshmallow Lovers Swiss Miss hot chocolate in the studio. In case you missed it, the X-Fighters Texas broadcast will air on ABC on Sunday. June 22 at 3:30 p.m. EST, immediately following the IndyCar Series race from Iowa City.

Every season there are a few riders that show up on the radar with some impressive speed that fans latch on to as their favorite underdog to pull for. Not that Suzuki City/Rockstar’s Cody Cooper does not have an impressive resume, but most fans were certainly asking who #902 was at Glen Helen. Cody has backed up his top 10 at the series opener with another this past weekend at High Point. Cody is currently living and training in Tallahassee, Florida with his friend and fellow countryman Ben Townley. Unfortunately, staying with Ben requires completing a really long chore list, so Cody will join us after he mows the yard and washes and waxes Ben’s Bentley.

Factory Makita Suzuki’s Mike Alessi decided to sit out the last few Supercross rounds to put all his energy into competing for the elusive Motocross title that slipped away last year. This kid knows nothing but racing and training and is the only rider other than James Stewart to lead a lap this year. Mike showed that same signature determination at High Point, but was still not able to match the winning pace for two motos. Jeff Alessi has been putting in some solid rides as well, including a 7th overall at the brutal Freestone track, but a hard crash last weekend led to his worst overall of the year. We have known these kids since they were on minibikes at Loretta’s and always have time to give them some love.

Factory KTM/MDK’s Nick Wey had his best finish of the season on the East Coast opener and we wanted to make sure and get our good friend on the show this week. Keep is rolling, Tricky!

Factory Makita Suzuki’s Nico Izzi sat out the Texas national after a big get-off, but the former amateur sensation came back strongly with his first outdoor podium at Mt. Morris. We will catch up with Nico as the series takes this weekend off before the night race in Colorado.

Racer X’s Steve Cox has been around the sport for a long time and even though he pulls for the lame Denver Broncos, we still like him. Steve has been doing a great job so far this year and we wanted to get his take on the season through round 4 and why he and Steve Matthes bicker so much.
