Barcia Wins at Bercy 1

For his first appearance in Paris Bercy, the main European Supercross, Justin Barcia had a strong performance by winning the first night of the event. The young American rider beat double World Champion Marvin Musquin, who rode strong on his 250.


Bercy has a long tradition, and once more the event was as exciting.  It’s always a strange feeling for newcomers to enter the ‘French chaudron’ and feel the incredible atmosphere! Justin Barcia discovered ‘live’ and enjoyed his first night in Bercy with a win in the main event. Twice runner-up in the ‘super pole’ and the ‘American race’ the vice US Supercross champion grabbed the holeshot in the main event, and then led the fifteen laps on his 450 Honda.

The track was rough and demanding for the first night, and several riders didn’t see the finish line as they crashed during the races. Neither Barcia nor Musquin made any mistakes, and after a perfect start they dominated the final race; aboard his 250, Musquin was faster and stronger race after race, but the powerful 450 was an advantage and Marvin scored a second position between Barcia and Kyle Chisholm. While Gautier Paulin – faster in the super pole and later winner of the American race – Grant Langston, Gregory Aranda and Mervyn Anstie crashed, Kyle had a strong race to celebrate at the podium ceremony.

In the SX Tour, Cedric Soubeyras dominated all his rivals aboard his 250 KTM two stroke.  The young Frenchman from Marseille won his semi and later the main event; he twice holeshot his rivals, and was followed in the standings by Fabien Izoird – leader of the series – and Christophe Martin.
