Australasian Supercross Championship, Round 1 3

Chad Reed took the SX Open win at first round of the Australasian Supercross Championship at the Kwinana Motorplex in Perth. After wind and rain the track was rutted and technical, though it was described as “drying.” Names familiar to U.S. fans rounded out the top six, with Dan Reardon, Jay Marmont, Cheyne Boyd, Andrew McFarlane, and Craig Anderson taking the next five spots behind Reed.

Reed will make the trek back to the U.S. for next weekend’s U.S. Open (and his U.S. debut aboard the Rockstar Makita Suzuki, and then back to Adelaide for the second round of the series.

Jake Moss (Serco Yamaha) took the win in the SX Lites class, ahead of his brother, Matt. Tye Simmonds (KTM) rounded out the podium.

A reported 12,000-plus fans were on hand for the event.
