2011 kx250f I messed up cam cap by rushing reassembly completely my fault. I bough a cam cap off another member and want to use it. I know everyone and every body says it can’t be done it’s machined with the head. But I’ve always been one to go against the rules lol. If it fits good cams move smooth and I have correct clearance between cam and cap what can go wrong. I have a new head being shipped but I want to try this before I use new head new head was ordered from Japan before I thought of this. In my mind if it fits and tolerances are within range I don’t get what can wrong. Thanks for reading

I’m making an assumption this is a bike you will use for light moto riding, some trail rides, etc.
In that case, I would say if the cam cap is in good shape without any scoring… run it.
If you’re a dedicated racer, spending a lot of time in high RPM’s… I wouldn’t bother with a 13 year old 250F.
It's not a clearance issue. It's because of bore alignment. That may not show up with plastigage.
