Hi all, I recently purchased a 2018 Yamaha YZ250F.
Struggling to start it (kickstart only)
Is there a certain knack to starting these beasts? No throttle I presume seeing as it’s an EFI as well as TDC kicks.
Considering valve clearances… starts fine bumping it though. I always personally thought valve clearances only give trouble once hot? After bumping it and once up to temperature it will kick over first time?
First thing I done is replaced the spark plug with an NGK plug, strange thing is I’ve only taken it out twice to a track treating it gently as I was getting to grips with a new bike as you do but it was starting fine. It wasn’t until I washed it and put it in storage (dry) for 2 weeks or so and it’s been hesitant since. I’m wondering whether the tick over isn’t quite right or something silly?
Any suggestions would be much appreciated, thanks in advance.
Check the valves an pull apart all connectors and clean w contact cleaner
