Help please!!
Bike is in excellent condition otherwise, however, after removing the spark plug cap several times to do some work on the valve cover gasket, etc., the bike is now intermittently bogging in the bottom of every gear when the throttle is aggressively rolled on ( out of corner, before jump face etc.).
i have tried changing fuel filters and fuel pump and changed map sensor.
i am beginning to think that the spark plug cap may have issues or something related.
Please please please help.
This is my sons bike and I’m out almost 800 chasing the problem and the kid hasn’t ridden in four months.
Thanks
Make sure the boot is full screwed into the coil wire Unscrew the boot from the wire and cut off a quarter inch then screw the boot back on
8 year old wire? It would not hurt to get a new one. You probably broke too many strands in the wire or it is just old.
The cap itself cracks inside after being removed/installed x number of times, thus causing an arc that can be intermittent.
I want to thank all of you for your input. Really appreciate it
The Shop
I bought a used coil/wires/boot off eBay for 60 bucks and that was the problem.
Thanks again to all for the help
This was it right here… you nailed it
thank you
Glad to help, it sounds exactly like what mine was doing and I chased it for months. Now it's the first thing I post in the forum when someone is having strange KTM problems.
