….or will he want to jump to a team where he’s their number 1 guy?
He's a family man, just like the rest of his family. That's their #1 priority. So I'm sure he'll be happy to be anywhere his brother is. Even if he's not "the guy."
Yes
I give it 2 years (the end of his firs 450 contract) and Honda lets Hunter go. From there he signs with Kawasaki. Stamp it.
I think he's okay being number 2 to his brother. That said, if another factory team comes along and offers him more money than HRC and the "number 1" spot, then I think he would go for it like any sensible rider would. But not because he couldn't handle being number 2 to Jett.
The Shop
There is a certain worth to keeping them together and letting them push each other to new levels. That’s probably worth Honda paying them both like number 1s.
Its been said over and over by them.....Hunter has the privilegie to be one of the "producers" of the best mx racer in the world.....desi's process is Logic to make Jett better then Hunter.... It would have been a fail if that didnt happened........pressing the issue every race is just the fu..up way of the americans think
He'll stay on the same team, like a package deal, unless Honda does not renew his contract. Those brothers have a good thing going as teammates and I can't see any team offering Hunter the kind of money that would make it worth his while to jump ship. At least not in the near term.
Well said, Sir.
He slept on the lounge and I got his bed every lesson at there house, my twin boys where there hero’s and they battled for 1&2 every Aussie race from 50cc to 450cc, so the family thing was my biggest push
If Jett is winning and Hunter is 3-4 most weekends. I don't expect any tension.
It will be if they are 1-2 battling for championships when issues could occur.
They will be together for a long time. Nothing will change. It’s like people want them to fight and split. JFC
He could also win a title in 24 or 25. Attrition is a big part of racing, I think he is amongst the top 5 or 6 so he could also go on a roll. We never know, the sport is a bit unpredictable. I think he will have his time and get at least a number 1 plate.
I wouldn’t sleep on Hunter being competitive with Jett and rest of the field. Probably more like 1a and 1b for the team.
If he is the 2nd or 3rd fastest guy in a year or two, Honda will be paying a lot of money in bonuses assuming Jett is on top. Only a Honda fan boy is going to think that another OEM won't throw a bucket of cash at Hunter. If Jett really goes on a tear Honda's race team budget will get blown up by bonuses. This has happened before. Between Chase and the Lawrence's Honda probably about maxxed out their bonus pay outs this year.
If Hunter can make a lot more money riding another color bike why wouldn't he?
It doesn't seem likely now chase has gone to ktm.
The the boys at ktm group could have been appealing. They could have made jett the face of ktm and Hunter gasgas. They would be the main guy on there respective teams but still able to work together and share info. But also be separate enough.
I wouldn’t bet on Jett waxing Hunter outdoors on a 450 just yet.
If he truly becomes the #2 (or maybe even #1) 450 guy next year, it will be difficult for Honda to justify paying the going rate for both brothers. Remember what happened with Ricky Carmichael and Valentino Rossi, both of whom were on top of the world when they moved on from big red. Just because they can afford to pay huge money to both brothers doesn’t mean it makes business sense to do so.
Riley you constantly bash America and American fans in your posts in these forums. Constantly…. FYI Many countries post here. For instance this thread on Jett. Why say this about American fans? Jett is awesome and a lot of fans have things to say about him. Not just American fans. 🤦♂️🤦♂️
Pit Row
Ironic, but he cant stop himself from coming on a american based website.
I know right 🙄… his comments about American fans in the Jett Pass thread are just ridiculous. The guy has issues…. He seems to be obsessed with America in a real weird way. 🤷♂️
Like a guy complaining about service at a restaurant and still comes back. Simple ,dont like it dont come back.
Great family, very close.
In their opinion it would be just two #1's.
Teams have had that many times in the past.
i didnt start anything, i didnt made up anything, i didnt even personalized anything.......
i dont like the atitude that can be seen here, there and everywhere, of pressing the issue of bad vibes and evil between the two brothers......i read their story of life, and i have a ton of respect for what that family did to succeed, their story has been all over here, everybody knows..... portuguese top mxracer, Rui Goncalves, was similar, parents sold everything, quit jobs, guether all the money they could, to go and live in a campervan, in a new country, new language and pay to ride, in search of a mx2 ride.....i can understand how hard it is to live away, new language, and fight for a survival......i have the upmost respect for those who do it.....
so i dont like what i read here, i dont like a lot of opinions here, so i speak my mind....i didnt personalized anyone, i just gave my opinion on what i read.....
am i right???, am i wrong ????......i got straight on personally attacked.....the weapon of the ones without argument
you dont like my pov, i dont like yours.......i dont insult anybody because of it.......
Does no one remember the supercross series? Is Jett immune to getting hurt? Please stop this nonsense, he will have the same bike as Jett and the team will all be pulling the wagon together. This is his best chance to beat his little brother head to head and if not he will still bank plenty of cash.
It worked out for Cal Naughton Jr.
OK, thats maybe the best post ever....LOL
Attacked, lol.
Oh my, he,s been racing a 450 for 5 minutes and managed a second overall, and a race win.
No doubt he will get better, but better than Jett and others ?
We are all going to hang on for what will be a great 2024 season, with six, or seven potential winners.
My mind goes back to the 80's when Team Honda had guys like RJ, Bailey, O'Mara, Hansen, Bayle, Stanton and others all under the same tent. That was the "team that money built"...but if you don't think there were a lot of egos under that tent, and "issues" being settled out on the track within that team of amazing riders, you're naive.
I think Honda has always seen the value of riders on the team that provide just enough friction to bring out each riders very best out on the track. They all had the fire to win, and the competitive personalities as racers to beat the "other guy" that happened to be winning more than the rest.
I don't think there will ever be that kind of deal between Jett & Hunter...but I do believe Honda knows each of them will push the other to new personal levels as racers, and that is a good thing for HRC. I believe one of them will be on the top box for quite a few years to come.
Post a reply to: Will Hunter be happy to be HRC’s No.2, forever?
