I had the idea to make a kid's day that was in the autograph line to meet Haiden Deegan. I remember how cool it was the first time I got to go behind the barrier of a factory team. The first time I went in a hauler. This sport is so freakin cool! What do you guys think? May do it again at another round.

That's awesome! GuyB hooked me up several years ago at Indy, I wasn't a kid but I felt like one! I got to repay him, Davey Coombs, Plesinnger and his dad and couple other people with a White House tour. IT was pretty cool getting a tour of the KTM semi, can't believe how much stuff they have on hand in those rigs.
I guess that’s cool and all, how many other kids were waiting to in line that didn’t get that experience tho. Should of picked the kid out while he was just walking around.

Where did that narrative come from? I never said or implied that at all. I was referring to the other kids in line around him, but the track is where life lessons are learned I was told. Simply said it could’ve been done in a different way. But bitch and moan about everything if you’d like.

It looks like they picked the kid because he had been standing there the longest, and he was covered in Deegan merch so they knew who he was there to see. Seems reasonable.
I think picking from the line was an easy way of making sure they got a fan of Deegan. some random kid might not have cared as much. But somebody waiting in line was more likely to be happy about it and make for a good video. After the fact its much easier to think of ways to make something better. But really , making a kids day is good no matter how or who. I am always surprised at what gets downvotes. Like the original post with the video having a downvote. I did not watch it, but who downvotes a kid being able to do something cool! I did not watch the video yet, the internet never fails to surprise me with how people can dislike just about anything. I should be used to it by now.
Maybe your ideas for improving the concept would have been taken better if you said it different and did not sound like you were a jealous kid.

Understandable, I wasn’t bashing the kid at all and that’s cool af for him. Just making an observation that got outta hand due to “differing opinions” Ken Squire gave me a ride back to the motorhome after the 500 when I was like 10 while walking with my shit faced uncle. He pulled up beside us and said would you guys like a lift? He had just got done calling the race. 36 and still remember, like that kid will to. And Haiden is a lot more famous than Ken Squire.
I guess I wasn’t clear in my wording, I was referring to the kid in Haiden gear. Not a random kid in crowd.

Here's how I chose. There was a large crowd for hours waiting to meet Haiden. Fifteen minutes before signing time I asked the crowd, "who's here for Deegan"? Previous to all this, I had talked to Haiden's mechanic, Duffe, and we wanted a kid that knew a bit about him. So, when all the kids started yelling, I started asking questions to see who knew about him, who actually watched his videos and followed him. The kid I picked stood out. His mom told me he had said the only thing he wanted for his birthday was an autograph, so they stood there for almost 4 hours. Felt like he was the one. I relayed that to Duffe and he agreed.
That’s cool man, hand up I didn’t know that beforehand and it adds context. Sorry if guys got upset about a simple observation. I’m sure it’ll be called BS but whatever. It’s best not to comment when it goes against the heard. If you want to send an invite to the farm I’m in Tally, you’ll see I’m not a ass. 🤷🏻♂️
