Is it just this sport or is it every sport? They all do it.
Yea, no, for sure.
Haha yeah I used to wear ski goggles to the club.
"Yeah no for sure" - Yes
"One hundred percent" - Extremely yes

It’s called language and cultural influence. People use it to communicate and relate to one another. Language evolves and people pick and choose which parts of language they identify with then use what makes sense to them. These kids are decades younger than you I presume. They probably do lots of things differently than you.
the terms and phrases people use in any interest, hobby, group etc is “silly” to the next person. (Ie. I hit that triple from the outside in 4th wide open is a silly statement to someone who doesn’t get it) It’ll be ok. Relax and let people communicate differently than you.
Like how about like when people like pepper like the word like throughout the like conversation.
Never let this guy listen to a motogp press conference lol
The difference there is zero native english speakers in Moto GP. I’ll give them a pass. But the like um yeah like uh Homeschooled US kids? Work on your delivery.
Fair enough. English isn't my native language, but what still bothers me is the insane usage of "like". It's "like" they don't know any other words these days.
Uuummm....yeah.... no
Bit different, I think almost anyone knows what wide open means, and as far as from the outside or 4th, that should be obvious by context, it's not like it's some ridiculous moto specific nomenclature, though I kind of get what you mean.
Saying "yeah, no..." and "like" every 3.4 seconds shouldn't really be considered "motocross speak" or sport specific language like maybe your triple example (although again I'd argue that isn't really some kind of moto-jive, calling three mounds of dirt a triple is pretty logical). It's just a little dumb regardless of age.
Not picking a fight man, difference of opinion I guess 👍
Yes-no its the new ”i cant thank my team”.
“I seen that!”
Put a person in front of a camera and put a mic in their face and their IQ tends to drop considerably. Happened to me once where a reporter on the street was asking me grammar questions and it felt like everything I knew on the topic was just gone. I'm a genius when I'm sitting at home on my couch - especially after a few beers!
My bad🤢....RIGHT....I just did a thing....spoke with my wallet....it's been a minute🤢.... it's been a hot minute....um ya no... just wanted to thank the good Lord for keeping me safe🤢....stay safe.... you and your family stay safe....
It's really eye opening when you read a transcript of what you said thinking you were smooth, lucid, and clever.
It is what it is.

ummm ya no ya for sure i can't thank my team *translates = im home schooled my good sir."
Like most American factory guys saying “yeah…” a lot when being interviewed. Ferrandis didn’t do that when he first came here, neither did Musquin…but they’ve been here long enough to adopt the vocabulary of the guys they spend time with.
Voilà, et donc, heu, voilà.
