But i heard the factory edition is getting a new frame update?

should i wait for the factory edition or is it the same as the normal 24 only with a akra slip-on and triple clamps

love to hear some recommendations

Very doubtful KTM and Husky will get a frame update this early in the model cycle. Even if the factory teams might want it, the bikes are still selling well with regular weekend warriors.

i’m in a wait and see myself, also have a broken left scaphoid that put me in the wait and see status and probably won’t be ready to ride until march. That being said, they tested the updated frame in europe during the MXGP with the cut out on the shock tower with mixed results. If you noticed they went away from the cut out frame and back to the standard design. Roger stated following the MXDN they took too long to find a good setting and recently found something… if you watch the video of chase riding at the test track from monday he is flying straight and fast through the whoops so there might be truth to that.

Yeah,,

that’s also what I tought, but in the podcast of Keefer he said they might get an update on the frame, the 24 factory edition.

I just don’t want to buy an 11 grand bike that’s “old” and “outdated” in like 2 months from now, so will it be worth the time to wait..?

beside that I don’t give a shit about the slip on and triple clamps so for that the FE isn’t worth my money, I’ll put xtrigs and a full Akra system anyways so for that I prefer the normal 24.

but yeah if they have a frame update it’s maybe worth it.

Haha yeah they also found something with Cooper. Well that didn’t age well.  He left

but will it be in production already for the average consumer in like 2 months?  Looks quick to me

An update, being a tweak similar to the shock tower edit or something, seems possible given the mixed reviews on the current offering.

Obviously they aren't about to drop an all new frame but t hey have the budget, resources, commitment and a little extra freedom over the Japanese companies to do that.

If I was a fast dude and it was something I was concerned about, I'd wait. A lot of regular, weekend warrior owners still seem stoked on the current bike after breaking it in though.

And the reality being 95% of those riders wouldn't notice the difference in frame tweak in a 'blindfold' test anyway...

But all the hard parts and plastics would be the same?  Otherwise I can’t bring my old parts with me

They have been doing 4 years on plastics. A lot of hard parts off the 2019 and even 2016 still fit the 2024. I would be surprised if any of that stuff changes. They really need a tuner. Suzuki, Yamaha, and soon Kawi will all have them stock. There are rumors about an improved air fork but if you are a coil spring guy you will be putting in cartridges anyway. You never know they could put the coil spring forks on the SXF as standard, but I doubt it.

Haha I’m not an airfork guy.  Conevalves and a trax shock all day, I take my suspension with me from my old bike,  currently a 22 model.

They can convert the shock that it will fit in the 24 model. And the forks it’s no problem from what I’m hearing, maybe a little revalving
