Anyone installed one? I did mine and now, with clutch pulled in, the bike stalls when put in gear. I mic’s all the plates and the fibers are all the same and the steel have 1 larger. The instructions are no help. Does the larger steel go first? Last?
Best bet is to call or e mail rekluse as there customer service has always been great for me.
I will Monday just trying to save a ride day this weekend.
Have you tried putting the stock plates back to verify they still work - as a sanity check to make sure something else isn't causing it?
I havent yet but the stock plates have half the friction ones one size and the other is another size, steel stockers have two that are different. The rekluse all the fibers are the same and only one steel is different than the rest….
The Shop
Gotcha.
Just trying to confirm that the only difference/change is the clutch packs and that something else didn't get out of whack and has gone unnoticed. I obviously say this from experience.
I had similar issue with the Rekluse clutch pack on a YZ125. It's because the Rekluse contains several more friction and steel plates then oem, they are thinner so fit into the same clutch space. The problem especially before the bike get good and hot is the spaces between these plates are smaller since there is more plates than oem, so they tend to have a bit of a viscous coupling until the oil thins a bit.
That's also a possibility.
I haven't used the Rekluse plates so I can't speak to that, but I have had OEM plates (on a KX125) that wouldn't separate until the tranny fluid got warm.
I was told the thicker plate can go anywhere on the Yamaha, but he recommended it as the last one since it takes more heat. I’d make sure you didn’t leave the oem steel stuck to the pressure plate. Had it happen to me lol.
Co fused me as well when I did the install on my 2024 yz450f. I determined that it made no difference where the thicker plate goes as it’s just a hair thicker. This system with the hydraulic clutch creates a phenomenal, usable clutch for all that power. Stock perch on yours? Just pull it apart and put it back together for piece of mind (sorry). Mine felt normal from the jump.
I’m running the gytr hydraulic clutch.
Also, check your stack height. You should have a couple millimeters at least from the tabs of the last fiber plate to the end of the clutch basket.
What setting did you put the adjustment plate on for the bolts also?
The 3rd according to the instructions. I ended up rolling it down a hill, kicking it into gear and rode it around and now she works…. Crazy I guess lol.
Sounds like they just needed to be broken loose.
Glad you got it working.
