Hi Guys,
I'm planning to spend January and some of February in north Spain. I'll be driving down in the camper with the bike on the back.
I've seen a place I can rent very close to CDG MX Retreat and that track looks good! But I'm unsure whether to stay in that area or would I be best staying closer to Barcelona and hitting the tracks there? Or maybe somewhere else? I'm trying to avoid loads of driving and instead find a good central base to stay. I probably only need about three or four good tracks to go to. Ideally I'd like to ride mid week as well.
Has anyone ridden in those areas lately and can recommend some places?
TIA
Sorry I can’t help you. I,ve been thinking of where I should ride& race this winter. The AX schedule sucks so that’s out. Probably Florida for January. Too many injuries this yr. It cost a lot of money & time. I did think of Spain because it would be a cool thing like the gp riders used to do or still do. But I like sand tracks . The winter ams has alot of competition.
Hey just look their homepage here for more tracks: https://www.cdgmxretreat.com/surrounding-circuits
Some tracks just open once a week (Ponts, Bellpuig,Rufa) you can see their calendar Motoclub Serge. Barcelona area north from CDG there are good tracks open more often(3-6 days a week) Vallgorguina, Roccos ranch, MX Golf. Valencia has always open Redsand 3 tracks (and maybe next winter 3 more tracks=6 tracks) and hard pack Motoclub Alcora on side of mountains. CDG was pretty booked for groups last winter and only some public days so I didnt go there but Redsand is great always and same goes to Barcelona area tracks(there are more than those 3)
January/February weather could be anything from torrential rains to summer temps or even some snow when you woke up. Camping places Valencia/Barcelona are pretty cheap and those months have room so its easy to move around and every gas station has washing place.
Hey thanks man, that's just the info I was after.
I think you've answered my question. Staying near CDG will mean I'm near tracks that only open once a week, and CDG may be booked up most of the time for the public anyway so no good to me. That leaves me with either staying near Barcelona or Valencia. I would think the weather is going to be better near Valencia, but there are more tracks near Barcelona. I suppose I could try and get an Airbnb near Barcelona for the month and stay there as a base, and make the odd trip to Redsands if I feel like it.
Cheers!
Get on and message the site now, I know CDG had some issues with equipment last year that meant they lost some of the public days so I think that artificially made it look like they didn't have as much time free to public. Should be back to full running this year hopefully and it's an absolutely mega track.

Thanks for reply.
I emailed Ryan at CDG the other day but no reply yet. I could give him a call...looks like a UK number.
If that place is open mid week to the public, it may influence where I decide to base myself.
Cheers!
