I was just talking with the janitor at Star. He said Eli has been testing a thumb throttle this week. He plans to debut it this weekend

I didn't believe at this shock issue at all. It was like A1 so my theory is that his legs are empty for the moment. Since the begining of the season, I think he look like he has no fire in legs but it's very understable. It's ok on dry track but when the track is sticky and rutted, it's look like a problem of legs strength that get him arm pump because he compense the weakness from his legs by forcing on his uper body when the track is sticky and rutted. That make him very unconfortable and I understand that. How much time it will take to get the strenght back ? more than before because he is older. He should be good around Daytona. Otherwise, You'll probably never see the old fashion Tomac anymore. Just my 2 cents.

Not that I disagree but if the shock was getting sucked down it would likely over rebound on takeoff like folks were seeing. As far as Star not being truthy I don’t think they ever said Deegan was not injured or they could not afford to send him to MXoN like folks claim.

I am not a huge Star fan by any means but other than claimgate there is not credible evidence they are not credible.

A team manager going on record with a not at all vague statement and I'm going to take him at his word. It would be very stupid and pointless to go in that hard on a lie.

With the Deegan injury situation, and the mxon excuses, I don't remember anyone being this direct. It's more lies of omission usually and star seems very careful about letting the Deegan family control the story.

Arm pump isn't a fitness issue. The theory that the legs aren't all the way back and he's having to use arms a little more makes plenty of sense to me. Also would explain why old setup that worked isn't just going to work now.

I don’t know if there was a mechanical failure but if there truly was does anyone believe that they would be honest about it? Because I sure don’t.

He could solve all his problems if he'd just unlock his hips.

Why people refuse to believe that Eli 'just got arm pump' when he has had this happen many times in his career is bizarre.

The guy has not been racing, coming off a big injury, 31 years old, and right behind two young stars on a track surface that is not his best...yea, probably got tight and then arm pump. His riding looked exactly like someone who had arm pump.

His results so far this season have also been 9th, 2nd, 9th, 2nd, 10th. The 10th wasnt even a huge anomaly compared to two out of his four races so far. Also looking at the pattern of finishes so far its right in line. So far this year hes finished at the back of the top 10, then the next week podiums, then finishes at the back of the top 10, then podiums. Glendale is one of his best tracks so hes right on schedule to get on the podium again.

Now, if we could only teach the difference between "sale" and "sell" as well as "lose" and "loose".

Once we get that straightened out, we could teach the media that there is a suffix "-er" in the English language that means "more" of the word it is added to. Get so tired of hearing a bike is "more fast", "more tall" or more whatever (insert facepalm emoji here).

Sounds like a job for Falcon.

My worthless opinion is that he never has liked the new bike. This may be going on now. it would explain why some tracks are good and some aren’t. He did not look super comfortable last year all the time compared to 2022.

again, this is kind of a guess but the way a guy like eli rides I think his primary interest is a bike that’s comfortable and stable. Something you can push on really hard and have a more linear relationship with. I don’t think the 23+ is that machine.

I spent a lot of money trying to make a great-on-paper GasGas my best bike and the sharpness of the chassis and bike setup was great but difficult to find consistent comfort and I was always hunting. Now on a YZ250 and I may be a touch slower sometimes, my comfort allows me to really push my boundaries as a racer and excel much better.
I’ve come to believe that the best thing for me and many others is a bike that’s stable and comfortable at the extremes. since the release of the 2023 bike I do not believe eli Tomac has found that as much as on the 2022.

I would agree while he states he enjoys the way the bike turns, it gave up a lot in the stability department!

If you’re over 18yrs old you don’t bring daddy to work. Are these guys really this weak?

“Yes I would like to [respond]. There was not a shock failure in any way," wrote Coker today in a text message. "His current shock setup is good on harder, drier tracks. When we got to the sticky, rutty dirt like this weekend it sucked the rear of the bike down and in turn gave him arm pump.”

So what were they running for the two mud races we've already had this year?
