I feel like this story may not be getting talked about as much (mainly on broadcast) as it should. Pretty cool to see their results the last two weeks.
Individually, it is impressive for each guy: Josh being what 32 (?) years old, was retired, coming back and battling with legit guys near the top ten. Justin, retired to be a cop (lol) with very lackluster restults in his final year, then to come back after years off and be solidly in the top ten. Coupled w/ the fact that this is the big boy class and they are brothers...pretty cool story IMO.
Have there ever been brothers racing at the same time that have done this well in the premier class at the same time?
Justin Hill rips. I will never forget the Tampa speed.
Agreed. They are doing awesome. I’d love to see justin grab a top 5 before the end of the season. What’s so funny about him becoming a cop?
I woulda bet a paycheck that Justin Hill wouldn't crack the top 10 this year.
Good for him!
One thing few people are aware of is that Josh has very little movement and feeling in his leg/ankle from the injury/complications stemming from his flip incident in 2010. He's fought hard for over a decade to adapt his riding and deal with the residual pain from that crash.
The Shop
They are riding incredible.
Josh is an amazing rider with incredible style and if not for his bum leg could still be riding towards the front.
Justin is fast and will continue to improve as season progresses.
Probably just the randomness of a supercross champion and career factory racer immediately quitting to join law enforcement lol one of the more memorable career changes for a racer I have ever heard of.
Fun to watch them do well. They probably do better in a situation like they have now where there isn't any big pressure. A happy rider is a fast rider.. )
I did not expect them to do this good. I thought they were both done and onto different paths and careers. Insanely impressive.
Oregon represent! Good on em boys.
I was thinking the exact same thing, there is absolutely zero comment on these guys, they are both always in the main event, doing great.
There are a few former pros out there who went into law enforcement. Travis Baker, Billy Jurevich and Damon Huffman to name a few. Former LAPD Chief Charlie Beck is a massive MX fan as well. While not a pro, he was a pretty good rider back in the day.
https://twitter.com/smxmedia/status/1637831383988023297?s=46&t=01niR1ff… second brothers to get top 10 in the same race. First time in almost 50 years
On a team with pretty much no factory support if any. I’ve had the chance the interact with both and they always spare time for their fans. Incredible riding style with both of them.
That insane 2018 Tampa ride was on a Suzuki… hmm. Twisted Tea 2024?
The Hill brothers are some of the most naturally talented riders on a dirt bike. You go free riding with them, you'll see the insanity and stuff you would never think possible. At this stage in their careers putting in top 10's in the night show proves what they can do on a bike. Regardless of antics and social media drama I'll always have respect for these brothers as riders.
Chuck Sun's brother was very fast. What other brothers were each very fast? And I suspect the "Jett Brothers" will soon join that short list in a couple of years.
The martins, vohlands, Stewart’s
And the King brothers from New Zealand. Not SX, GP, but still...
Atlanta was another great showing for the Hill Bros. Impressive what they are doing on a regular basis with fairly stock motors.
Pit Row
Absolutely, and again. No mention of them on the broadcast or anything from what I have seen or heard on social.
I just think this is a cool story that gets absolutely no attention lmao. All season they are finishing right next to each other towards the top ten.
JT was talking about the battle between Josh, Deano, and Nichols a little bit on the review pod.
Like I feel like they should at least do a segment during one of the races or RDL on them and their careers and how well they are doing? We get dumbass segmants about hailee deegan racing nascar trucks but nothing on this lmao.
Im pretty sure that James called Jr. Hill one of the most talented dirt bike riders out there during the heat race when he was running third.
And Ricky mentioned Josh having won a 450 SX early in his career.
That was the one where he pulled out the quad before the sand section right? Damn he was fast that night. Shame about the brainfart and hitting Marvin
