Which bike to you think looks better, the black/blue bike or the white/purple 50th anniversary bike? Feel free to post better photos of each if you have them, especially with Haiden's flo yellow numbers.
Poll
I have to say I’m not a fan of the yellow numbers on either of them.
typically, I’d choose the blue bike, but it’s a bit too black.
this bike looks better than both of them.
Honestly, the Club MX bikes really pop in person. Hard to beat the polished frame with the color of blue they use.
I miss the yellow 💛
The Shop
Yeah it does but my favorite of the two in the poll is the white and purple with the wheels. I wonder why they didn’t have the purple fmf on the bike. All of those things tie it together to make one awesome looking bike.
Be cool to see them take a stab at a ‘90 YZ250 looks
If they put gold rims on the white/purple bike it would be best.
I just can't get into the purple rims, besides that the white/purple is cool.
I always expect a YZ to be blue though, especially a factory race bike.
Personally I like the white/red the best though, Lesher's was sweeeet, so what the hell do I know 😂
Red & white ♥️
They should be all blue. The black look is played out harder than metal mulisha was. The retro bikes cool, but only here n there.
They should bring back the red and white.
I can't believe there are people that dont like the purple wheels - that's the best part IMO
No bike looks good with that massive G.A.F Monster logo on the shroud
I might be a little biased, but I think my 2022 Star Yamaha MXoN replica YZ looks pretty good! But the more I see of the white & purple bikes the more I want to sell my 250F and build a white & purple YZ 125. I’ve been drooling over the idea…
Now that is sick.
I like the White bikes without a Monster logo. But of the bikes shown, I like the way the yellow # looks on the black and blue bikes better than how it looks on the white bikes. For me, its just too many colors on the white bikes. I don't like how the blue background yellow # looks on it. A red background might look better. But they will probable be back on the blue and black bikes this weekend.
No factory yamaha will ever top 2004.
I am all in on the retro-themed bikes, but I am REALLY partial to the Yellow/Black of the 70’s/early 80’s and the Red/White from 85-92 or so…(those color bikes are/were my youth! 🤪 )
Here is a pic of the only bike I have ever attempted a restoration on and that I sent info/pics to MXA for the Two-stroke spotlight back in 2016 or so!
I attempted as best I could replicate the Red/White scheme from 89-90 on this 2004 YZ250 that was a complete bike but not running when I acquired it! I only regret the black wheels and WISH that I would have held out until I could get a set of Gold rims that would have really completed the theme! But I was dying to ride it and get it ready for a vintage series so… 😎 👍❗️
I personally wish Yamaha would had gone with SILVER wheels for the 50th anniversary scheme more appropriate for the 1994 bike it is based on!? But then again…why/how a 50th anniversary bike is the color scheme of a bike from the 90’s doesn’t make a lick of sense anyway SO might as well roll with the purple wheels too! 👍🤪👍
Pit Row
Yep.
Lesher's color scheme/styling gave me a very similar vibe to the one I got from LaPorte's '82 GP bike (insert the "Homer Simpson drooling" emoji here).
Now that’ll bring back a few memories!!! I had both 125 and 250 of that year!!
While I love the vintage white/purple/pink of the retro-themed bikes, the look is scarred by the black and green Monster logos. Add Haiden's yellow numbers and I'm already starting to gag. Top it off with red boots and I'm puking all over my keyboard.
I don't like the black/blue Yamahas, but at least they have a more consistent color palette. (The SMX Championship plates look pretty disgusting on those, too.)
BTW, is Deegan going to run a red front plate and purple side plates this weekend? Seems about right, if so.
Searched for the same bike to post. Lol.. theyre "too much" now.
Here it is in action! 😲
Yamahas looked best when most of the plastics were blue rather than black. The 2000s YZ250 posted above was their best look. I think the retro white/purple stuff they run now is pretty cool and is better than their standard mostly lack with a hint of blue that they've had for the past several years at Star.
Metal Mulisha - what a pack of dorks.
Is it me or are the backgrounds different on each bike?
Are they going to run the 50th edition at Hangtown too?
No. Done for the year.
Yamaha is doing Deegan an injustice by making him ride the ugliest bike in the history of motocross. Get rid of that FUGLY black piece of shit and let him ride the white/purple retro bike all year. His legendary rides this year are being documented on the disgusting black turd. When is Yamaha going to dump the pathetic black freestyle livery? Poor Deeg's will have to look back on his career someday only to see a bunch of photos and video riding an absolute shit looking bike. Every other manufacturers bikes shits on the black Yamaha in the looks department. The retro kit 100x better and I have no idea why they aren't running it all year.
I love black, but it's not for motocross bikes.
The deegans know style.
