Imagine telling fans the 90s how much content we have available for consumption in 2025. We are definitely spoiled
Facts.
Moto 60 show is on right now. Content a plenty
I listened to it earlier today and liked it. They didn’t bicker like Mathes does with JT, that sh.. gets old. I don’t like it when mom and dad fight.
The Shop
Looking forward to more unfiltered Blair.
Agree on the bickering. Way too much bickering.
Matthes gonna have shows almost every day of the week if this continues LOL. I get the strategy, the more separate shows, the more sponsors you can get, even competing ones. He even joked on one of these shows that he was pimping a certain brand of gear bags, and couldn't mention the other brand because it was a sponsor of one of his other shows. Marketing guru.
I dont mind a bit of the bickering, but when it drags on for more than a few points back and forth it gets tiresome.
Kinda agree. I guess if Steve and DB start bickering we know who the common denominator is
It is definitely Steve. I like Steve, but sometimes he carries it too far with JT.
Back in the old days of regulated television, broadcasters were limited on the ratio of commercial minutes to program minutes. At one point it was like no more than 15 minutes of “spots” per hour, so a 1 hour cop drama was actually only 45 minutes of program and the rest were ads.
I don’t think such regulations exist for podcasts and YT (probably should), but I imagine sponsorship contracts specify a certain amount of airtime per promo, so if you want to run a bunch of ads, you need to have longer content. Which could explain why sometimes these guys run on and on about stuff that nobody really cares about.
Yep, not bad. I’m on day 7 of a total knee arthroplasty, so I have been watching hours of media…. Literally hitting refresh today looking for new stuff to populate.
It's all Matthes and JT do these days, and it has been going on for a couple of years now. It brings the worst out of both of them. It's, not funny and makes the content unbearable.
Matthes and Blair might work. If Matthes starts doing the same bickering as with JT and Weege i'm instantly out on this.
Weird, I think it's JT. He takes Steve's tongue in cheek comments way too seriously.
I love them both, but JT comes off as constantly bitter about basically irrelevant comments.
It's that way of every sport but especially niche sports like our beloved moto. I remember setting my VCR to record Supercross. It was usually about three months after the actual race, 11PM on ESPN. And I always had to set it to record for an extra hour or two the second half of the season because it would always get bumped because of Stanley Cup playoffs. The entire night show was edited down to 1 hr (45 minutes without commercials).
Then a couple years later we started getting 2 hour broadcasts only a week late!!! That was a short enough delay that I wouldn't seek out the results and could be surprised!
The difference is JT disagrees when he genuinely disagrees, and Steve actively finds ways to argue and irritate JT to create the bickering.
JT should have thicker skin and just ignore a lot of it though, but he doesn't and that's why Steve keeps going lol. I get both sides.
Probably an unpopular opinion but just remember you are listening to two completely grown men who don't have kids, which does change your perspective on a lot of things. It's way more obvious with Steve to me. But whatever, just my random opinion.
Anyone catch the hint that Haarup will be the east coast Triumph fill in?
It's shtick people, shtick.
Pit Row
Heard and noticed that too and came here to see if anyone was talking about it. He’s zipped with talent so I hope there’s traction behind this
Too much fast talking, hard for me to listen. Sounds like a Monster Truck commercial, most sports I listen to don’t have that rapid fire, back and forth banter.
100%. At work im able to have headphones in all day so I eat up 8 hours a day of content. After trump won the election literally every single podcast was talking about politics and I didnt wanna listen to politics so I attempted to listen to 100% moto podcasts. I was able to listen to moto podcasts for just about 8 hrs a day for a cpl weeks. That would have been impossible a couple years ago.
Even with youtube and instagram in the last 2 years theres been a MASSIVE jump. We now have tons of moto meme pages on instagram like fuccvincefriese, moto memes, nocontext moto, and so many more. When you have tons of meme pages and the factory guys r reacting to them something has changed. Also on youtube we have a bunch of new faces doing youtube breakdowns, review shows…etc. Holeshots, main event moto, trackside… and so many more. The sport is very healthy right now.
Hes there mx2 rider right? Mxgp starts march 2nd. Can’t see them risking injury so close to the start of that series.
He aged out of mx2 and no 450 racing yet, he was announced to stay with Triumph doing development, I figured he might make a stateside racing appearance after he was at the 450 launch in Georgia
Ah got it. Is triumph not even racing the 450 in mxgp this year?
He was at the stadium yesterday. I wouldn’t be shocked if we see him race at least one east coast round.
Daniel really shines in these podcast formats. Great insight and always articulate. He was really good on the broadcast, as well.
He's hinted more often lately about his dislike for the way his stint on the broadcast ended. It makes me wonder what really happened.
He Who Shall Remain Unamed on this Forum had a pretty plausible theory about who was responsible for Daniel's exit. I wonder if he was correct.
He just did a podcast with Gypsy Tales that explains it more than he’s spoke about it the past. TL;DW - a top dog at NBC did not respect Daniel and basically made it clear to him that he had hit the ceiling of what they’d let him do in regards to his broadcasting career.
Kinda wish Blair named names and was a little more specific about what he was told by the exec, but I understand why he wouldn’t.
