Is it better to be down low and close to the track or in the seats? I would assume to see the whole track its better to be in the seats, but how high? Any suggestions? General admission tickets are standing only, right?
High enough to see over the NASCAR catch fence.
If you get a seat in the main grandstands, obviously get as close to the center as possible and high enough to see over the fence. You don't want to go too high, where the riders look like ants and hard to see who is who. There are also seats that run along the NASCAR pit road that are pretty close to the track. Also, buy a track pass ($20 I believe) that allows you to walk across the NASCAR track and get up close and personal to the SX track. You can go back and forth to your grandstand seat if you want.

View from the bleachers on pit row:
I've never done bleachers on pit row, but between the grandstands and standing on the track, it's just a compromise. Sitting in the grandstands feels like sitting in seats at a normal stadium supercross, except the fence is in your line of sight. The fence was not terrible, but you do feel removed from the action. Standing trackside is amazing, the riders are right in front of you. I was at Daytona in 2011 or 12 when Alessi got pushed wide off the start, and he flew down the side of track within a few feet of us fans. It was incredible. It is a little harder to see the rest of the track, but you can still keep an eye on the leaders.

Went last year for the first time. Standing on the oval track is the best. Just a different feel than a regular supercross.
👍👍
Section 340
Too late, flights and rental house are booked.
For some reason, I have hard time believing this. I did look at tickets in this section, but will be trying to get closer to the middle.
2nd section up , as close to the middle as you can get. lowest section is in the fence line of sight.
general admission isnt standing, its just seating in the bleachers on the far left/right. non reserved, have to get there 1-2hrs early to get realtively close, show up late and you'll be faaaaar out on the extremities
the 'on pit row' seats that are mentioned above are called 'the roost' , you can find that on the main daytona sx site. also, if you hvaent discovered this yet, buy tickets directly from the stadium , unlike ticketmaster and the resellers, and you save a ton. like, you buy a $60 ticket for basically $60. crazy.
From on the track the day after Eli wins, again..
Thanks, I have been looking at Daytona's website. Glad I am I did look at a few other places and the prices are crazy. Considered the Roost, but the reviews I saw said it wasn't worth the price.
daytona is by far the most affordable SX, if you buy direct from them. the roost is not worth it. its industry seating due to proximity to the pits, and the amateur racers get seats there. you can see 100' of track very well, but you are too low to see the rest of the race.
Middle section above catch fence. If you get GA seats…plan on getting there early to save your spot.
Our favorite spot to watch practice is at our camper in the infield. Daytona Supercross has been a yearly tradition since 2014. Our favorite family trip of the year.

Sorry...
If you have to be there.... sit near the wheelchair access very high. It's the best place. It kind of looks like watching on TV .
Watch it from the rental house
Here's the thing.. everyone saying it sucks to watch in person has done it a ton of times..
don't listen to them.. lol..
it's fn awesome just being there!
153 has probably been there more than most of us have been to any supercross at all.. it's probably become super stale to a guy like him.
You can see pretty much the whole track mid level but I really liked being along the fence. We bounced around through the night but ended up trackside side for the main.. we even went super high and I thought it was cool. After it ends, you can get on the track too!
have fun and stay for amateur day Sunday and Monday! Cheap entertainment and you can buy day passes on the back side of the track at the MX sports tents during the day..
Pit Row
I went for the first time last year. Had trackside and stood at the fence from the second the gates opened until night time. Got to watch Tomac do the burn out in front of me and fanboyd harder than I ever have in my life lol
viewing wasn’t great obviously, but I wanted the ambience more than the viewing.
Best view is between the lanes and sitting in on the rider's meeting.
