Agreed. There's coming off as young and unpolished due to lack of exposure, then there's coming off as young and arrogant. He definitely comes off as the later in that interview.
Couldn't agree more. And not one penalty handed down. If that was anybody else there ass would be on probation, and penalized. 4 corners in a row isn't a "racing incident". And then to be a smug little asshole about it in the press conference. Any respect I had for him is gone. If your gonna play dirty, at least have the balls to tell it like it is. Not I don't remember. Ok rant over. Still pissed about sexton being docked 7 points. And poor AP sacking out on the last lap
I was wondering the same thing. He was a 250 title contender I believe battling sexton and now sextons winning and he should not be getting beat by about 5 or 6 semi privateers everyweek

We saw a brief moment of Tomac showing Tomac speed passing Webb. And then, it was gone. Hmmm....is something more than a stiff neck going on?
On race average times, in a hypothetical combined field, Hunter would have looked pretty good. The 250 riders bolded.

No doubt Hunter can be a top 5 guy in the 450 class but not every race. However, he could greatly improve just as he has done this year on the 250.

Yeah....so impressive in a depleted field.
Tomac may get it back, but I think he has lost confidence right now for some reason and it shows. Things can change fast in this sport. His Daytona win does not really count. This seems to have started in Tampa but noticeable since his big crash.
Yeah, he hasn't really had a great flow for a whole main event and looked like the clear best guy for a whole race since Houston, save Daytona which he could win with his eyes closed.
Some people seem to be in denial and will point out that he still has more wins than Sexton and Webb combined, but that doesn't tell the whole story. Since Houston, he was horrible at Tampa, very good at Oakland but not dominant, decent but finicky at Arlington, great at Daytona, horrible at Indy, and decent but finicky again in Detroit. 5 wins in 10 races looks real nice, but he's not performing at his usual elite level nearly as consistently as he was last year. There was a period where he was a top 2 guy every single race from Anaheim 2 all the way through Atlanta until he hurt his knee.
Yep exactly, I don’t know if it’s bike issues on different surfaces but I thought the new bike would be better at Detroit type soil. What do I know though? I’m hoping he figures it out, one thing is for sure, this season is fun to watch!
The crash on the tuff blocks is the only thing I can think of. No real aggression since then IMO. Not sure if he will get it back or not. His comments in the press conference were kind of like his racing the last two weeks. Not the same guy as the early races.
Everyone loses the drive to win at some point. Maybe he has reached that point. I would still love to see 50 but not sure if he can flip a switch and make it happen or not. Kind of ironic, he used to start the year slowly and build. Looks the opposite right now.
I’m still of the belief that Tomac isn’t as comfortable on the new bike. I don’t think the A2 crash has had lingering effects but that’s just my opinion
Go back and watch his first three races right before that big get off in the triple crown again! He was destroying the whoops and putting the bike anywhere he wanted to and had zero problems getting around anyone!!
It’s fine to ask hard questions, but how did Deegan take him out of the championship battle?Seemed like he was a little emotional about the situation. Also don’t know many 17 year old boys that act or respond reasonably when being questioned in that manner.
