I’m not a 450 rider. Curious to see how the 23 450 sits for a big guy. I’d guess the 2024 YZ250F will get the same rider triangle as the 450. I’m 6’2 ish, long arms, legs. I’ve read the current 450 rider triangle has changed from what I’ve read, improved for taller riders. None of the dealers around me have a 450 or I’d throw a leg over one.
Looking for comments from those that have been on/rode a new Yamaha 450 and how it fits a big guy. Like I said above, I’d guess the 2024 250 will be similar to the the current 450.
Comments please, Thanks Billy
I'm 6'0. I actually got a chance to ride one yesterday. I do not own one, but I have ridden the 2022 and 2023. I felt really cramped on the 22. I got on the 23 and did not feel like it was cramped at all. Rider cockpit feels great
Glad you had a chance to ride one and thanks for the comments. I figured at some point in time Yamaha would make changes to be a better fit for taller riders. My guess the 250 will get the same treatment when the 24’s come out.
I am 6ft and have 15+ hrs on mine and it's comfortable. I also have a size 14 boot and the shifter once moved up a spline is better as well with the down and back pegs on the 23.
The new YZ450 is night and day better in terms of ergos. I’m also 6’2”
2022 feels super cramped and it’s immediately noticeable right when you get on the bike.
Hop on the 2023 and you don’t feel that at all. It just feels normal.
And how was it ??
I'm 6'6" and just sat on mine today for first time - not sure i'll need to do any of the "tall" guy mods i normally have to. But holy shiz ballz ?? what's with the seat (and i'm a roadie)
