Guys,

I wasn't looking for too much more out of my 2020 Yamaha YZ450F, and certainly I wasn't after more power, but I like powerband breadth A LOT.

So, coming from a stock exhaust header paired with a DRD (Dubach Racing) muffler with spark arrestor insert, I was looking to try a complete exhaust system to see what improvements could be had.

I ran across a good deal on the Pro Circuit Ti-6 exhaust system, so I decided to give it a try.

Here's my ride report after ~ 4 hours on the Ti-6 system:
(1) It seemed to "fill in" the low-end lull that the bike seems to exhibit. This said, I was never annoyed with the lull, just that it was there slightly. The "Magic Map" minimized it and I was totally satisfied with the motor ---> And then was even more impressed with this system.
(2) The midrange broadness was improved with a nice, but subtle increase in power (feels like ~ 3-5% increase in power).
(3) The luggability of the bike was improved ~ 10-15%. It's quite a nice improvement. Think: FAST TRACTOR!
(4) The Ti-6 system isn't loud in my opinion. It is on par with stock or the DRD.
(5) Overall, the bike is easier and more fun to ride. It's also easier to push/ride fast with enhanced "mistake-proofness" on the track.

When I read MXA's write-up on this exhaust system, I felt their experience very much matched mine. Here's their write-up:

Overall I am super impressed with the Ti-6 system.

Finally, here are the fuel-engine-intake-exhaust-gearing settings that I run:
(1) Pump 91 octane with ethanol
(2) Yamaha Med RX Fuel Stabilizer added in the recommended amount
(3) No internal engine mods
(4) "Magic Map" again seems to be the winner map for me
(5) Twin Air PowerFlow intake setup
(6) PC Racing Filter Skin
(7) Pro Circuit Ti-6 full exhaust system without spark arrestor installed
(8) Stock gearing = 13/49

(9) Rekluse Radius CX clutch

I hope this was beneficial to those looking into YZ450F exhaust systems!

Ongoing Review Update (after ~ 7 hours on system):

The only drawback to this exhaust system I am seeing so far is boot interference / rubbing on the header that sticks out slightly more than stock.

I can't say I notice it happening, but it obviously is.

What are your thoughts on the engine mounts?

I like them. The more I ride with them, the more I realize they help the overall handling - if ever-so-slightly. I think they help cornering and help make the overall chassis just a tad more compliant/forgiving.

Thank you for the reply. Would you say it’s enough of an improvement to warrant the price tag?

I don't know if I am a good person to ask. I got it in my head that I needed them, bought them, then installed them like a year later. When I did finally get around to installing them, I had an "oh, that's nice" initial ride.

They were most noticeable on my 2016 YZ250F and I understand they are even better on KTMs, Hondas, Kawasakis, and most of all Suzukis.

Check out some various thoughts on this type of product here:

In typing the above and thinking about "handling bang for the buck," I'd personally spend money on an Enzo revalve, XTRIG ROCS Tech with PHDS mounts or NEKEN SFS triple clamps, FasstCo Flexxbars, or MAKO 360 bar mounts on the 2020-2022 YZ450F before spending $$$ on the FCP engine mounts (again - for this model). Once you've done a combination of the others, I'd try the FCP mounts if you're still looking for a little more (and I was, and I like them).
