Moving to Olympia area in March. Originally from California, but have spent last few years in the Southeast. I've done my research online, but as many of you know, places close down and new places open up faster than websites can update sometimes. I'm trying to see what spot(s) are open in the area within two-hour drive. Thanks

Right on. I live in a Moto black hole currently. Average drive for me currently is about 1.5 hours to a track, either direction. I live about 10 minutes from a multi-track Moto facility, BUT just my luck, they are only open once a year. Thanks for the reply

There is also a ton of riding year round on the east side of the state. There is Horn Rapids for moto, then there are a bunch of open land with trails, dunes and open riding.

When does the race season normally start up? Around spring time?

We have Arenacross races and Woodland that run during the winter. Most of the outdoor stuff starts early spring. Also Horn Rapids runs most of the winter just open practice though.

I moved here from FL via CA as well. As you know Yuba City has some nice tracks in the area. FL also ok. It is better riding here though but you do have a 4 month period of winter that is tough to deal with.

I think you will find that Washougal is the big events and is worth camping for the weekend! Most of those other tracks are great also. Horn Rapids is pretty cool! Hope you got a camper or RV so you can make the most of the riding here in the NW!

If your Old enough the Old Timers races are very good here as well.

You've ridden in Yuba/Marysville before? Im used to being able to ride 12 months straight, so winter will take some adjustment.

Not sure what the age cutoff is, but I'm not too old

Oh yeah I used to ride all of those tracks. E Street was my fave. Riverfront for hot summer nights.

The winter for me has been tough. I took a 2 week trip to Socal in my RV and plan do another to the Yuba area.

The age to join is 30 I think. However they do have support classes for all big bikes so it is worth going if your around. They run their races much better than others.

I will be in Yuba all of February, hopefully shaking down a new Kawi. I think E Street is hosting a LLQ, so might test the waters there, too

Should be great conditions with the rain they have had lately. I plan to hit up the area in late Jan or Feb also. With so many of my rider friends up in the NW injured I will have to look for some other guys who want to ride.

Good luck on the new Kawi!

No been busy and the rain has not given us much of a break here. Even Norcal has had plenty of rain lately. Skiing is good though.

Good! Need the rain, for sure. Riverfront, E Street and PC should be PRIME by the time I get there!

I just completed my southern trip and found plenty of sunny days! Zaca and E Street was great! Zaca of course was worth the drive as well as seeing the sun again!

Did you head north yet?

I head North at the end of the month. Currently shaking down this Kawi. Been to Hangtown, E St. And Riverfront. Riding Riverfront tonight, then try to make it MMX this week since the LLQ is over

your doing it all at the right time. Next month the riding here will start picking up more and more as the rain slows down.

Wade,

Horn Rapids is a haul but many say it is worth it. They have showers and full services there. Does not rain as much as here either.
