If you listen to Pulp MX, he had a guy on a few weeks ago from Maxima and he explained the differences between K2 and 927. Basically K2 burns at a little lower temperature where 927 needs more heat to completely burn off. Because of this, K2 is more forgiving to rich jetting. This also explains why so many people claim the power valves gum up with 927.
If you're riding the bike hard, then 927 is the preferred oil. He also said Mitch Peyton swears by 927.

macz400- if you are doing fine with the current carb, I wouldnt rock the boat, the Keihin in my opinion is a better carb for the KTM's. They just seem easier to jet and more responsive to the changes.

I switched from 927 years ago. Like so many skeptics I swear by Legend ZX2SR oil. Every machine has ran noticeably better after switching and burns cleaner than anything I've seen. Last summer I emailed Legend Lubricants to ask where I could buy stickers since none were for sale on their website. They responded quickly asking for my address and said they'd send some right out. Six nice decals arrived soon after including one big enough to cover most of my front number plate absolutely free. Customer appreciation like it should be. Don't take my word for it. Call B.S. and do your own research. Every rider should at least be able to make an educated decision. Legend Performance Inc. Google it

FWIW, +1 for K2, but no experience with 927.

How do you guys feel about SuperM? I ran this stuff in my YZ250 for years and never a single issue. Now I ride a yz125 and still no issues, but my pistons look like shit after 15 hours, lots of wear around exhaust bridge, wear on intake side as well. I run really good fuel, 110 half/half with 92 non eth. Bike gets pretty hot despite being pretty fat on jetting(430main, stock 1998 needle in the middle clip).

I run this stuff in my superjet too, and I just bought a 5 gallon pail (superjet can run through a gallon of premix in a day easy)

I've ran Super-M for years and never had any problems. Ran it in my YZ125 and YZ250 for over 10 years. Didn't notice any unusual wear. It burns very clean and runs great. We used to run it a CR125 for 4 hour beach races. We had multiple practice sessions and races on the same bike with the same bottom end. in these races you'd be WFO the whole time in deep sand with a paddle tire. Can't imagine much that could be worse for a 125 than that. Never had a problem.

I used Dominator for a while but switched to K2 after hearing about all the rust issues on bottom ends.

I almost always ran K2 in my YZ250 and 927 in my 125. If the temps got really low I would run K2 in my 125 as well. I didn’t run SuperM for very long.

I’ve never heard that before. Hard to tell, but you can tell there is no rust in the bottom end.

The claims of rust with Amsoil Dominator used to be pretty consistent. However, I seem to recall reading somewhere that they had changed the formula at some point, perhaps added rust inhibitors. I am not sure how representative of practical results in our MX engines this test might be, but I happened to see this recently. Dominator did well in corrosion prevention.
