on the fence if I should try the cycra set up. I see positive reviews but some say the fit and finish sucks. Also that it lets in a lot more dirt and dust into the air filter housing. Does it really make the bike feel that much thinner?

Yes it makes the bike feel thinner and the one piece shroud is so much nicer in my opinion. I didn’t have any issues with fit or finish

I wouldn’t ride a Yamaha without one after making the switch, makes it considerably slimmer and you don’t hang your boot on the end of the shroud like with the stock ones.

Yes, but I do a filter more or less every time I ride anyway so I never worried too much about it. I believe the newer cycra kits have some steel mesh over the inlets? Mine was a first year kit and doesn’t, but I’d have to think that cuts it down a fair bit

I would say the fit and finish wasn't that great for my yz250f. All the holes needed to be cleaned out for hardware to fit correctly. The hole for the shroud to airbox connection was off a little and the supplied bolt was awkward to install to get it all to mate correctly (hex head, short, and it has its own collar to fit in the plastic).

Im happy now that its all together, but Im not looking forward to taking it off for an air filter change.
