just bought my first yz and trying to figure out the best filter. Sounds weird but I bought a twin air for it but where the lip seals to the air box seems real small compared to the oem filter. I used to run the no toil pre oiled filters for 15 bucks, clean and reuse them a few times and then toss them out. Don't want to keep ordering filters until I get feedback on what others yz riders are using(mainly because of this funky air box). I use pj1 spray oil. When I install a new filter I always add a fresh coat of oil to the part where the filter seals against the intake. Seems to create a better sticky seal this way. I will be running the pre filters in the intake shroud.

I have always run twin air without a problem. I find the the oem ones start to swell and don't fit right after a season. Never had a problem with twin air and bell ray

There is simply no better option than DT1 filters. Best place to get them is http://www.mxfilters.com/
High quality dual or triple layer foam, neoprene seal so no more grease. Their filter oil and cleaner are great and clean up easily.

The dt1 filters did seem like a good option. I would assume I'm safe to use pj1 with them.

The DT1 filters with the extra mud layer worked best for me in all conditions on my YZ250F.

The intake system just takes in so much air and dirt that the filters get wrecked easily. The DT1 gasket type base and extra layer really help keep the dirt out.

I did order the prefilters that go in the front of the shroud. Hopefully should help on dusty days

Another vote for dt1! I originally bought a uni as I always used uni’s growing up. Then I got hooked up with dt1 and I won’t use anything else!

Twin Air for years with no issue. Someone gave me a DT1 for gift, and so far it's just as impressive.

DT-1 will never get my business again. I used to run their filter cage and filter. That is until one of the medal prongs holding the filter on decided to back out (they were just screwed in) and got sucked through my engine. A bruised tailbone and $2,400 later i had myself a new engine, exhaust, and bars.

Like everyone else says...DT1. I use a foam in the shrouds to keep debris out as well. I hammer filters off-road in every condition imaginable and I've never once worried or had an issue.

On the subject of air filters, has anyone used the twin-air powerflow cage and screen eliminator or DT1 screen eliminator kit on the 14-17 Yamaha 4 strokes? Was wondering if there was a preference and from what I understand the Twin Air kit moves the back of the filter away from the airbox wall, is it a noticeable difference for ease of filter removal and install without rubbing that back wall of the airbox?

I was considering the kit until I saw how expensive it was
