I got the wider and lower oem yz450 foot pegs to put on my aluminum frame yz250 2t. I am using the stock 250 foot peg brackets. The right side sits flat but the left side is angled back and up.

My question is do I need the 450 mounting brackets as well to make the pegs sit flat or do I need to take a little off the peg to get it to sit flat?

Thanks in advance,

You actually may have a problem with the left side. The pegs do not sit flat on a YZ250. The newer YZ250s now come with YZ450 pegs. Before the factory put them on, it was not uncommon to put them on. (I could be wrong, but for at least 20 years or so all the Yamaha pegs will fit each other.) I have had 3 YZ250s, 2 of them were not flat before the putting 450 ones on.

The biggest thing you need to look out for is the right side. The peg will go up and hit the rear brake pedal on the radius of the bolt that holds it in. It will groove the pedal and go into the bolt holding it, possibly locking up your break. I have had to file down both old 07 and my 19 brake pedals. If you ride single track or drop your bike, always check it. The first time I found this out...it locked up to me coming down a hill.

Hope this helps.

Yeah the pegs are all swappable. On my 18 im using the older taller pegs but i did just switch them to the even older narrow peg as i feel it helps me stay on my toes and not the arches
