Hello again, sorry for starting my 10000000th thread, but I bought some old stock a60s for my 2015 a60, what spokes will I need to lace them to my oem hubs? Do the stock ones work? I don't want to use the excel spokes because they are splined, could I use spokes from a different manufacturer? Black ones?

Thank you guys

Hi Ben,

For your 2015 Yamaha YZ250 (2T), I am assuming you are using the stock OE rims sizes (21x1.60 36H Front, 19x2.15 36H Rear)?

For the front Excel A60, the stock OE spokes will work fine however you may need to replace the nipples to a larger diameter nipple. The stock OE front rim that comes on the Yamaha has a smaller nipple hole diameter compared to the aftermarket Excel rims. Our aftermarket Excel rims have an 8.5mm nipple hole diameter where stock usually has an 8.0mm depending on the motorcycle manufacturer.

The rear stock OE spokes/nipples will lace completely fine to the Excel A60 rim if you bought a 19x1.85 or 19x2.15 Excel A60 rim. If you bought the 18x2.15 Excel A60, you will need to purchase a 18" spoke kit.

Depending on the overall condition and how much time you have on the stock OE setup, I would recommend replacing the stock OE spokes/nipples if that wasn't your plan already. There are many other aftermarket companies that provide spoke/nipple kits for the stock Yamaha OE hubs that lace to Excel rims. I would recommend purchasing the correct spoke kit for your Yamaha and not another motorcycle manufacturer. As for colored spokes, I know Dubya USA has tons of colors to choose from.
