Hi guys, new to bikes here. Just bought a 2004 yz125 and it is dire need of swing arm bearings and bushes to be replaced. Got the arm out but the shock linkage bolt that goes through the swing arm was seized solid because of the linkage sleeve! Long story short had to cut the bolt to get it apart... Now struggling to find one to replace it with! Anyone have any idea if any other year yz models used the same bolts on the swing arm or not as yamaha does sell 2001 model swing arm bolts but none are available for 2004? If memory serves right i saw somewhere that between 2000-2005 they were the same but would like to know before i order these super expensive metal bits 🙃🙃

Uuugh.
I have one of those in my "Friggin nightmare someday I'm gonna get to that" pile.
Time to time I douse it with Kroil, beat on the bell crank with a rubber mallet and chuck it back til next time haha.
Time before last I finally got it to move a little so eventually I'll take an air hammer to it

Aren't they fun ???? !!!.

Absolutely awful! Even worse that i cut it to bits to get the linkage out before i checked that theyre gold dust to get... oh well at least the swing arm along with the shoxk and linkages are ready for new bearings! Few bits closer to actually getting some time on the bike

I've just had a look on Fowlers (Bristol) parts fiche. The bolts from a 2001 and 2004 don't look the same. Try using their parts fiche and cross referencing. The 2005 bolt looks similar to the 2004 bolt.

04 yz 125,250, and yz/wr 250, 450f all use the same bolt according to the parts fiche, but a newer bolt will work... old part number, 5XE-22122-00-00 will interchange with the new number of 1C3-22122-00-00... actual part number is the same as the first three digits only indicate model code for Yamaha... as long as the second number in the series is the same they will interchange, the 3rd indicates design change/updates and the 4th indicates product finish...
