Has anyone done this? I’m think about getting a lowered or adjustable subframe but want some opinions before I do.

I did on a 15 SXF 450. This was the mod that the works GP bikes had. The lower subframe hole was welded closed and drilled 5mm further up. After shaping the subframe below the new holes everything fitted nicely again. You will notice more stability and less nervousness of the rear end over choppy stuff. Well worth for those bikes. I did not do it to the 16/17 or 18 SXF as I run a PC linkage which gives the same effect.

Would you say going by them that it’s worth it? I’m not worried about the price cause it’s not expensive just if it’s even worth doing.

I’m 5’ 9” And had it done to my 2012 RMZ. I only went 5mm but I really like the lower rear end feeling. I had Clayton at Trick eng. do the work. It was flawless.

i know a couple of the local kids on Yamaha's have done it, both on 125's and 250f's.

I was talking with my buddy who's son has it done on his 2018 YZ250F and he said it puts a little strain in the exhaust system because you're lowering the mounting point and they cracked at least one system after some time.

With that said they still did it on his 2019, he's probably around 5'7".

I didn’t think about that but the fmf seems to need lots of wiggling to fit already.
