Ive got a guys quad in my garage for a top end rebuild. Wanted to consult the brain trust before i tell this guy his head and cams are trashed.

This quad has a blown base gasket and a blown head gasket. Coolant drained was maybe 2 cups. Definitely not enough. Oil doesnt even come up to the dipstick.

Im still digging into it but all signs pointing to overheating and oil starvation. the cam, cam journal, and cap journal on the exhaust side is scored.

Question: does anyone know of a place that can repair this or should i tell him his head and cams are trashed?

Those parts are toast. They will need to be replaced. You will find much more in the way of problems the further you tear it down. Total ground up engine rebuild time...
Big costly project for an owner that seems to not care for his equipment.

The owner is my coworker who paid 3500 for it. Hes had it a week and hasnt even ridden it yet. He certainly got jipped on this deal. Plus side is the bottom end feels solid.

Give these guys a call. I had a 250f head repaired with the same damage if not worse.
