Anyone know if a top clamp from a 14-17 YZF will fit a current YZ? The top clamp I’m looking at is 25mm offset and I think that’s stock on a YZ correct?

I put my 2016 clamps on a 97 yz250 I did up. Also had 2008 clamps on the 97

The newer YZF forks are smaller diameter at the top clamp area. So to do that you have to machine the YZF clamp 2mm's larger to fit the older model SSS forks that come on the 2 strokes.

The lower clamp goes right on.

I'm a machinist and have access to a CNC machine. So I took my top clamp off my 16 YZ450. Opened the bore up 2mm's and they slipped right on my 12 YZ250 forks. So now I have adjustable rubber mounted bars on the 2 stroke.

Then I put 14 model stock YZ450 clamps on my 16 which are 22mm offset which makes it turn better.

Ah ok I didn't know that. I haven't had one that new in my hands. Good info.

Figured instead of making a new thread I would ask my question here. I am in the midst of building a 2013 YZ 125 and have the opportunity to pick up some XTRIG ROCS clamps off of a 2014 yz450f for pretty cheap that I would like to use. What would be needed to make this happen?

Sounds like based on the other replies that the top clamp would need to be bored out but I am wondering if I will run into issues with the stem length or anything else?

The YZ125 uses a short length stem, the YZ250 uses a long length stem, and the modern 250f/450f use the mid-length stem. Which is all rather annoying.

The two strokes have larger upper fork tube diameters than the four strokes by 2mm in diameter (bottom is the same).

So to summarize, the Xtrig clamps for a 450 will have the wrong stem length and too small of an upper clamp diameter for a 2013 YZ125. And the stem won't simply swap out for the stock one either and Xtrig uses an adjustable offset.

I know this is an old thread.

But if you would buy a short stem from xtrig's. And mill the upper clamp diameter of a yzf xtrig clamp they should fit on an yz 125?

You could, but you'll thin out the clamps at the top. This may or may not be a problem, but your best bet is to just get the right clamps from the start!

So the stem won’t fit a yz250 either?

Read up a few posts. The 250 stem is different from the 125 stem is different from the 4 stroke stems. So, depending on what you're trying to do, the answer is probably no.
