Has anyone drilled holes in the top of their air box on a 2019 YZ250F just wondering if itโ€™s worth doing I have read some people had been doing this and adjusting the mapping to suit cheers

Yup. Pulls farther and harder mid to top.

In my opinion you could have made it look a lot cleaner. That looks rough in the photo provided.

that looks terrible. Some people just drill small holes on the side of the upper shroud

That screen isnโ€™t doing much might as well be an open hole for dirt to go straight to your airbox

I have the power flow kit. Makes it easiest to ensure no dirt in the air box during cleaning too.

The white cover looks perfect.

I got the No Toil air flow system and put it on. I have not taken a ride yet. But it was quite a bit cheaper than the twin air and does the same thing. I ordered a twin air air flow filter hoping it will mount on the no toil system. I am not a big fan of the no toil.

Did the twin air work on the no toil system? About to order one and wanted to make sure they work.
Thanks

There is power to be had with these airbox cover mods, for sure.

I saw the below dyno curves on the VHM site for testing their large-volume airbox covers made of carbon fiber.

The YZ450F benefits more than the YZ250F given its "air gulps" are nearly twice that of the 250F, yet they use the same basic air intake system. Stands to reason that less restriction benefits the 450 more.

Drilling holes is priceless ... literally.

Carbon fiber not so much, but oh so pretty.

Perfect fit. The only difference the Twin Air cage has a pin that goes through a hole in the lip of the filter and the NoToil does not have the pin.

I honestly don't think dynos do these mods justice. They seem better when you ride them. They just come off corners and pull through the mid range so much better and you don't really see that on the dyno sheets. And yes, the 450 is insane compared to the 250.

I recommend either the twin air or no-toil kit. I went no-toil because of the price point, I hear the twin air filters fit the no-toil cage perfectly as well.

I also drilled some holes in the airbox to let it breath a bit.
