I have a 21 crf 450 and and thinking about getting some t4. Just curious if it will make my bike run leaner I have a vortex mapped. If I need to go to her like to know before hand due to making adjustments on the vortex is a horrible location. Thanks for any response

When I had my vortex mapped they said I could run 93 or T4 on all the maps. I’ve been running straight T4 without any issues on my 21crf450r . Mine was mapped by XPR but I did tell them I would be running mostly T4. If you wanted to be absolutely sure beforehand, you could call and ask the company that you purchased the vortex from. And yes the ecu location on our bike sucks to get to.

T4 is recommended as a pump gas replacement. That's all I run in my FC450 but it is mapped by Twisted and T4 is recommended for it's consistency vs. pump gas.

Yes I have the cortex from xpr and it’s starts hard like it wants to turn over and turn over way to much. I have set my tps to make sure . I was just curious if I had to add fuel or not . Also if u switch my maps on the handlebar switch. If I switch to map 4 the torque map it doesn’t like to idle at all .

Mine also starts very hard just as you described. I’ve only tried map 2 and 3 so far but both were great maps -just a longer start than what I’m used to with my 20 crf250r mapped by twisted. What’s your fav map so far if ya don’t mind me asking.

Just my experience, I came off a CRF 450 and would run VPT4. I have a Husqvarna FX 350, and I Got a can of T4 to run in it.
It ran worse on the T4, and it did on 91 pump gas. Although it did run great on the track and felt snappy. In some research I did, the guy said you were better mixing it 50-50. Unless you’ve gone to high compression piston,Vortex ignition,
And a pipe. They said I’d be better running it 50-50 with pump gas, and stretching my dollars. Since T4 is like $15 plus a gallon.

The idle, and just off idle was worse, on the track at speed it ran great.

I have only tried map 1and 4 and switch them in the stock oem switch well blue button . Map 4 pulls really good I don’t remember it starting this hard until I started to use just about pure t4 . I might try and only do a 50-50 mix . I’m thinking it’s to much t4 for map maybe .

Calling it a pour in replacement is misleading.

It’s like 6% oxygen, and stoich is in the 13’s

If your pump gas has 10% ethanol, then it has roughly 7% oxygen content. Specific gravity, T4 is 0.75 while 93-octane pump fuel ranges from 0.72-0.77 depending on the summer or winter blend and local regulations.

The advantages of T4 is consistency and no heavy components in the fuel to reduce the unburned fuel residue. I have noticed a significant difference in the residue on the top of our 20-hour 125 pistons with T4 vs a 75:25 pump/C12 blend.
