I know this sounds pretty obvious to go to the dealer for something like this but I was pricing out some oem parts for my Yz250 today. Noticed that you could buy a full replacement frame on Rocky mtn for $906. The oem parts fiche from the dealer is almost $1300. That’s a huge difference. Do they get the frames directly from Yamaha? How does something like that work where I would have to get the vin stamped on the new frame. I’m the original owner of my bike and have all the paperwork from when I bought it but would a dealer just take my old frame and a new one with a receipt from RM and just stamp the new vin? Anyone have any experience with this and not a frame that was warrantied or something. Thanks
