I know aftermarket parts dont add much to price (like a couple hundred) but i am throwing the idea around of moving to a ktm 2 stroke next season and am wondering what my bike might be worth?

2010 YZ250
Completely rebuilt with 20 hrs
Restyle kit
Comes with loads of stock parts
Bike has lots done to it as in aftermarket stuff added to it. Most are new, some with only like 5 rides.
Bike is regular maintaned.

Depends where you live and local market. Plenty of bikes similar to yours sell for $3k+ up here in New England. Even more if they are newer.

I live in an area where people ask a lot for stuff and are fairly stiff on pricing. I plan to keep the bike till next season to be able to save some more money up to put with another bike.

The YZ250 market is odd. I see clappers going for $3000+ fairly often. It’s kind of hard to find a cheap one that is an 06 or newer with the SSS suspension. Then I will see super clean low hour stockers going for not much more. It’s a bike that once it’s been used it sort of tanks in value, but then never actually gets low enough to find super cheap.

It’s why I determined I am just gonna keep my 13 forever. I’d regret selling it, and wouldn’t get enough to make it worth while.

They are pretty much all high priced IMO (lately). I sold an 09 YZ 250 back in 2013 for $3100 (A really nice one) now there are older ones asking for more than that.

I got this thing for 2400 after talking the guy down from 3000 and driving 10 round trip. Sold my 06 yz250f for 2450 and even traded for a the yz250. Pretty sweet upgrade lol. But im throwing the idea around of switching to ktm because of electric start and i would like to have more of an enduro bike like an xc. Also the amount of hours you can put on ktm’s is insane. My buddy has a 16’ and has done only top ends every 160hrs and has put probably 5-600hrs on his bottom end.

Anyways, i do see clappers in my area for like 3k+. I was planning on saving up till next season maybe and asking like $3500-3800 for it? I do plan on doing more to the bike as well...

Ah, 2400 was a steal, nice! Ya, I think you might get 3k+ for it but who knows. Best offer I got on my mint looking 2013 250sx was 3800 a while back and I ended up parting it out and making more than 5K.

I have a 17 250sx kick start and a 17 exc-f electric start now. I'm not huge on needing electric start personally but I can say it definitely is nice offroad, especially if you stop/stall on awkward terrain.
