I am looking to find a solid shop that has a TON of experience with porting YZ250F heads.

Do you have any solid recommendations?

TZR does a great heads for those bikes. Im having them build my 2018 yz250f race motor this year.

Othere good builders for that head.
Bundy Built: JGR Yamahas motor guy
Williams motor works: solid work here
DASA: Don't sleep on this shop. Great engine work for the yzf.
Yoshi and rocket exhaust have good work for those heads. Yoshi even has a long rod piston developed for it.

There is a really good tuner in Denver area who I can maybe contact and get you some advice. He's been a long time Yamaha tuner for the best Yamaha shop in the Denver metro area. I believe I know who you are as I live 2 minutes from you as I recently bought some TuBLiss from you as well as a KX triple clamp a couple of years ago...If so, I can text you some info!

Twisted was my go-to.

I've tried emailing Jamie at Twisted like 10 times, I've tried calling more (it was this past fall, actually). I just can't get them to respond or pick up the phone, so literally - where do I even start?

I am not just sending parts. That seems like a bad idea.

Understood.

Jamie got right back to me when I inquired about sending in my ECU for a re-flash. Got it back with no instructions or a spec sheet for map switch settings. I emailed Jamie twice, got no response. Called the shop, got someone that sounded new and said they would call me back with info. Never got a call back. Called again two days later and finally got someone and got the info I needed.

I think they are really, really busy. It's SX season and prime West coast riding time. I agree though, wouldn't want to send my stuff off without talking to a human, then who knows when it would come back.

Yeah, Jamie is the guy I'd trust with a 270 big bore given his experience with YZ250F big bores. I'll think about it some more, but the last thing I want to deal with is a ghost if stuff goes sideways. Thinking ...

TZR......great work. He is a great engine builder with great attention to detail. He did a big bore on my Honda CRF270 and it’s great. The builders seem really busy right now so communication is everything.

Shoot an email to Tom Morgan or call him. Ask him what he can offer for your bike. I just sent my Tm 300 cylinder to him, isn’t even there yet. Always answers promptly.

I just had Williams Motowerx do a head and cam packages for my 2021 YZ250F. I wrote a full review at the link below. I currently have 4 hours or so on it and am still extremely pleased, the power carries so much farther and stronger than the stock stuff.

I agree they all seem super busy. I recently tried contacting several by using their own online forms and being very specific of what I was looking for. Only XPR got back to me and they were super nice as well.

YZ250F head = DASA racing in River side, Ca. They do CNC porting for these heads.
I will be sending him my head once I do a top end.

Phone: (951) 681-1131 ask for Dan. He owns it.
