What does this weld in restrictor do on the stock YZ125 silencer?

I am guessing this is for sound...anyone else know what it does? It's definitely going to create some back pressure.

Isn’t that just the mating flange? I don’t think it has any effect on exhaust flow.

No it just slides in and sits flush with the stinger. They way its designed, it creates an Eddy Current.
