What cleaner for brand new bike chain goop?

The chain on my new bike is nasty. Stuff got everywhere. What comes in a spray can that I could just use a rag and wipe it all down easily? Brake cleaner hardly gets it off stuff..

Take off the chain. Put in a shallow pan of gasoline (aluminum baking pan is good) Scrub with a nylon brush on all sides. Blow off with air hose. Done. Use gasoline on a rag to wipe off of bike. Dispose of gasoline and rag properly!

What 666 said. I use a five gallon bucket with about an inch and a half depth of fuel. You can swirl it around a few times and the bucket contains any splatter when hitting with the parts brush.

I use the chain cleaner by Motul. Works great.

I do take the chain off and place in a metal tray. I use an old tooth brush.
