Upgrade 2004 kx250 Front Suspension

I just bought a 2004 kx250 and from what I understand, the forks aren't all that great. It came with PC triple clamps, so I'd rather keep everything except the forks stock. What are my options for replacing the forks?

1st of all you have a bike that's 13 years old , before you get too carried away I would get have both ends of the suspension refreshed and replace any parts that could be worn-out including linkage seals and bearings. Then break it in and then go from there. Also invest in a factory service manual.

I get that and respect that, but I don't want to dump too much into the current forks if I am just going to replace them.

Not sure...Prolly have to change clamps..mine are 47mm Showas, yours are prolly 48mm kybs..

just be glad you don't have 05 kx forks, haha! those were horrible. we ditched the forks on our 05 kx250 and we took the forks and clamps off of our blown up 06 kx450. Way better!!
