Unable to bleed brakes, nothing coming out of the bleeder valve

I was going to flush & bleed brakes on my 87 KX250 last night, but ran into a problem. When I crack the bleeder valve nothing comes out either by suction or even pumping the brake pedal.

What would prevent fluid from exiting the bleeder valve? The brake is actually tight right now, it works great, but the fluid probably hasn't been changed in at least 2 decades.

Does anything come out if you remove the bleeder nipple? Its not unheard of for dirt to get jammed in there

yeah, remove the nipple and see if brake fluid comes out. if it doesn't you can push the end of a paper clip into the hole in the caliper to clean it out.
