Hello all,
Just wanted to give a shout out to Tokyo Mods and their remap service.
I recent bought an 18 KX450F. From day 1, it started hard, stalled easily, popped on deceleration, ran hot, and had soft bottom end.
After hearing about lean stock mapping I called Tokyo Mods. They were very friendly and thoroughly explained what their mapping would (and wouldn’t) do. I sent my ECU in (no, it’s not the elusive “factory” ECU...lol).
They shipped back the day they got it.
Upon starting the bike, I could instantly tell a difference in how it started and the throttle response. Upon riding it, it was night and day better. It had far better bottom end response, enough that I could stay off the clutch in sections where I had to use it before. It pulled noticeably harder in the bottom through the midrange. It started easily cold or hot, and the overheating was gone. So was the deceleration popping.
This was a 91 octane pump map. I would imagine the maps for race fuel get even better gains in power.
Overall this was the best 98-ish dollars I’ve ever spent. If you have an 18 KX I’d highly recommend it.

The Shop
As far as results it really woke up my kx450. Really put a nice touch on the mild build i have.
a simple O-ring, because the dealer only sells the full kit for $$$$, they always have
it and answer any lame questions I have in a friendly way. I wouldn't hesitate to
give them my business.
As an added bonus, several riders have commented that my bike has a really throaty sound compared to stock. Sounds different than any other one I’ve heard out there.
